This manual was developed to provide best practices for avoiding the spread of invasive weeds during tree removal work which is a particularly problematic vector of dispersal since mechanical tree removal generates great disturbance. The goal for this effort is that contractors doing tree removal work in the Central and Southern Sierra region will incorporate these practices into their standard operating procedures, and help prevent the spread of invasive weeds. Following this BMP is Mandatory for public lands, and strongly recommended for private lands.
